Briersfield 6 v  Scoopers 1

Briersfield go 4 points clear at the top after a workman like performance over Scoopers in tough conditions at UL this evening. But it was Scoopers that took the game to Briersfield early on and carved open a sleepy Briersfield and  Keith Shine's defense with ease.

Eddie Price rattled the bar when he caught a volley at the edge of the penalty area, and Price was on target a few minutes later when he rose unchallenged to see a Gerry Crowley cross from the left into the back of the net.

Scoopers continued to create chances as Briersfield struggled to settle, but Briesfield kept their heads and in a sweeping move down the left, Paul Fitzgerald found then net when his accurate shot beat the Scoopers keeper. 

In the second half Briersfield piled on the pressure and landed goals from Tom Murphy, Tom Kennedy, Eddie Shine and two from Dave Kelly when they showed that they are truly title contenders.
