The Dark Days Of November

It’s that time of the year. Getting up and going to bed in the dark. Halloween and the budget and after that the big push to Christmas which now starts on the first week in November. At least the Presidential election will be over and our new President will be installed with his big salary for seven years. The budget will once again screw the PAYE worker and bring anybody on the minimum wage close to the stage where they might be better off out of work. This is a crazy and dangerious situation for our Country to get into where you could be better off staying in bed rather then working.People on low incomes should be allowed to keep whatever benefits i.e. Medical card rent allowance for at least a year until their wages start to increase. I suppose that I am peeing against the wind.

November will also start of the Heineken cup. The big game on the first weekend is Munster v Northampton. This could be a very short season for the Reds if they are beaten in this game.

Next week will define the Limerick soccer team’s season. Favourable results could see them go back to the Premier division. However irrespective of the result I still fail to see how they can keep Manager Pat Scully in place. We have more then enough capable Managers in the Limerick area. In Fact some of those playing in our league Mike Kerley, Derek White, Declan Casey, Ray O Halloran just to name a few could do as good a job as Mr Scully.

We then have the Ireland v Estonia World Cup play off game. Ireland should be good enough to win these games. So we have a lot to look forward to that will help bring us through the dark days of November and December.  For all the Man United FansWhat’s the difference between Man Utd and a taxi driver? The taxi driver will only let in four.

No games this Friday.

We will be back with a bang on Friday 4 Nov and will have games all the way to the first week in December. Keep the Faith.
